Certainly! It looks like Bhavish Aggarwal’s AI startup, Krutrim SI Designs, has recently raised $50 million in a funding round, turning the company into a unicorn with a valuation of $1 billion. This achievement makes Krutrim the first AI unicorn in India and the third unicorn since January 2023.
The funding round included investors such as Matrix Partners India, and the capital raised will be used to drive innovation and expand the company’s global reach in order to revolutionize the AI landscape.
Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder, expressed excitement about the successful closure of the funding round, stating that it not only validates the potential of Krutrim’s innovative AI solutions but also demonstrates the confidence investors have in the company’s ability to bring about meaningful change from India to the world.
Krutrim SI Designs, incorporated in April, has Tenneti Venugopala Krishnamurthy as a co-founder. Krishnamurthy, a long-time board member of Ola’s parent company ANI Technologies, joined the venture.
The AI model developed by Krutrim comes in two versions: Krutrim and Krutrim Pro. The base Krutrim model comprehends 22 Indian languages and can generate responses in 10 languages, while Krutrim Pro is a multi-modal model designed for enterprise use.
Bhavish Aggarwal has previously founded two other unicorns – Ola and Ola Electric. The funding and unicorn status position Krutrim SI Designs as a significant player in the AI industry, with plans to make a mark globally.
